Training

Abbey began her dance training at age 4 at Natasha Gregory Ballet School in Durban, South Africa. After immigrating to Australia with her family, she continued her ballet training while also learning jazz, contemporary, and urban styles at Davidia Lind Dance Centre in Brisbane, Australia. She completed her CSTD Jazz and RAD Ballet exams at the Christian Academy of Performing Arts, while completing high school. She was a member of her school’s dance company, and graduated First in Dance. After living and dancing in Sydney, she returned to Brisbane and completed a Bachelor in Fine Arts (Dance) on a Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship at Queensland University of Technology. During this time she also completed her Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies with the Royal Academy of Dance.

Experience

After receiving her Bachelors Degree with Distinction, Abbey performed in various contemporary dance festivals, such as the inaugural Supercell: Festival of Contemporary Dance, and the Brisbane Street Art Festival 2017. She was also a member of Nick Cave's 'The Heard' at the QLD Gallery of Modern Art as part of the Sugar Spin season and performed as a dancer and suit character at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast. After relocating to London in 2018, she has performed for Merlin Entertainment as part of their Howl-o-ween Live Show 2018. Abbey is also a member of Hillsong Performing Arts, performing in London Carols at the Wembley Arena, as well as King of Heaven, performed at the London Palladium, o2 Arena, and recently broadcast online to over 40,000 viewers.
